Roll-off dumpster rental in Heyworth

Approx. 12 road miles from the yard, around 18 minutes.

Heyworth is approx. 12 road miles south of the yard, around 18 minutes — same-day or next-day when availability allows, once the Village's rules for the job are checked; call early for the best chance of same-day. It is a village of 2,791 at the 2020 Census, in McLean County.

The Village's “Our Roots” page, quoting a 1926 history, says the area was known as Randolph's Grove; the Illinois Central Railroad was built through in 1852 and 1853, and the station, first named Elmwood, was renamed Heyworth after an English director of the railroad. The Village was incorporated on March 31, 1869. Garbage and recycling go through the Village's contracted hauler, and the Village says refuse does not include concrete, building materials or hazardous wastes.

Local knowledge

Getting our bearings in Heyworth

Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.

  • Randolph's Grove — the area's early name, from the Village's “Our Roots” page.
  • Illinois Central — built through the Wakefield land in 1852 and 1853; the station's name changed from Elmwood to Heyworth.
  • Incorporated 1869 — on March 31, the Village says.
  • Village garbage — three totes per customer and commercial pickup days, with no concrete or building materials. Village Hall is at 108 S. Buchanan Street.

What comes out of Heyworth properties

Roofing in 10s and 20s, garage clean-outs and flooring in 15s, remodels and larger clean-outs in 20s, multi-room renovations and estate clean-outs in 30s, and a 10 or 15 for concrete and dirt — heavy material usually only goes in the smaller boxes. Concrete and building materials are what the Village's garbage program doesn't count as refuse. Illinois keeps some things out of landfills: TVs, computers, monitors, printers and other electronics (415 ILCS 151/1-83); lead-acid vehicle batteries (415 ILCS 5/22.23); tires, whole or cut (415 ILCS 5/55); refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, water heaters and other large appliances unless their refrigerant and mercury parts have been removed (415 ILCS 5/22.28); and liquid used oil (415 ILCS 5/21.6). Landfills can't take landscape waste, and it can't be mixed with other waste headed for one (415 ILCS 5/22.22) — tell us if a load is yard waste, and before you load an appliance. No paint, solvents, oils, fuel, hazardous chemicals, propane tanks, gas cylinders, batteries, medical waste or asbestos.

Permits, placement and who may haul in Heyworth

Who may haul — read this first: Heyworth's code says the Village collects all garbage from its business and residential areas (9-5-3A), and that no one may collect or remove garbage in the Village without the express authorization of the Village Board of Trustees (9-5-3C, Ord. 2019-22). We have not read the chapter's definition of garbage, so whether that reaches a construction roll-off isn't clear from what we read. We check the Village's rules before booking a container in Heyworth. Illinois law bars any city or village under 1,000,000 people from awarding a new franchise or contract for collecting construction or demolition debris (65 ILCS 5/11-19-1(f); contracts in place on 1 January 2018 excepted). We're licensed and insured.

Placement: we did not read Heyworth's street chapters and found no Village street dumpster permit, so this page makes no claim about one. A driveway is the simple spot — give us clear placement instructions and you don't need to be home for the drop-off. Ask the Village before using a street.

State routes: IDOT requires a highway permit before any work in the right-of-way of an interstate, a US route, an Illinois route or another state-maintained road (605 ILCS 5/4-209, as IDOT cites it), and it has no dumpster or container permit type — so beside a state route the container goes on private property, never in the right-of-way. Not every stretch through a town is state-maintained, so we check the exact address.

Knocking something down: before a regulated asbestos demolition or renovation, Illinois EPA must get a notification form and a $150 fee 10 working days ahead. A privately owned house, or an apartment building of four or fewer units, is exempt unless it has had or will have a commercial or public use. Asbestos never goes in our containers — tell us if you find any.

How it works

Booking a dumpster in Heyworth

Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.

  1. Step 1: Call and tell us the job

One short conversation. We ask the address, what you are clearing — a cleanout, a renovation, a roof, a yard, a job site — roughly how much there is, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us.

  2. Step 2: We size it and quote it flat

You get a flat-rate quote whenever possible that covers delivery, pickup, disposal, the standard rental period and an included weight allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.

  3. Step 3: Delivered where you want it

The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site where you asked, on a flat, solid surface rather than the lawn. Often same-day or next-day, when availability allows. You do not need to be home.

  4. Step 4: Load it at your pace

Keep it below the top rim and keep the problem items out — paint and solvents, oil and fuel, chemicals, tires, batteries, propane tanks and gas cylinders, medical waste, asbestos, TVs and computers, and fridges or other appliances still holding refrigerant. Need more time or a swap mid-job? One call.

  5. Step 5: We haul it and dispose of it right

The load is tarped and goes to a permitted facility, with metal, concrete, asphalt and yard waste recycled whenever facilities accept them. You get your driveway back the way you left it.
